HISTORY
Srimangal is the best place in The Bangladesh
for tourist. It is famous for largest tea gardens in the world. It is also one
of the old Pouroshova in the region. It came into as a thana in 1922 and
established as a Pouroshova 01 October 1935. Srimangal is called “the
land of two leaves and a bud”. Its covered by lush green carpet of tea
plants. The visitor can have a look at the terraced tea garden and pineapple,
rubber and lemon plantations. Every year a lot of foreigners came here to charm
their Heart.
Bangladesh is known as a major tea producing
country. In 1840, the East India Company first
introduced in Chittagong tea trading. There are more than 172 tea garden in
Bangladesh. Most of the gardens are located in the Srimongal. Around 118000
workers are available in the tea garden. British colonial rule was brought them from different state of India.
